Senior Building Surveyor

• Inspecting and advising on the design, construction, maintenance, and refurbishment of commercial buildings
• preparing detailed reports, schedules of works, and specifications
• leading refurbishment and reinstatement projects using recognised building contracts
• acting as Lead Consultant or Project Manager on higher-value schemes
• advising on and applying statutory legislation including Building Regulations, CDM 2015, the Building Safety Act, and Party Wall matters
• managing and negotiating dilapidations on behalf of landlords and tenants
• supporting and mentoring APC candidates
• playing an active role in business development, representing the consultancy and securing future work
• understanding and interpreting legal documents including leases and development agreements

• MRICS Accredited
• a strong technical understanding of building pathology and contract administration
• experience working across sectors, particularly commercial properties
• comfortable managing complex projects and multiple stakeholders
• working knowledge of relevant legislation and health & safety
• sound report writing and negotiation skills
• insurance reinstatement and defect diagnosis experience (preferred)
• strong communication and client-facing skills
• methodical, problem-solving mindset
