Job Description:

A leading property and construction consultancy known for their innovative approach and national presence, are keen to speak with an experienced Senior Building Surveyor, with a view to joining their growing team in a full-time capacity. Offering the successful Surveyor a busy and varied role across a wide range of commercial projects, this opportunity provides a platform for someone with drive and ambition to thrive and take ownership of key projects, clients, and outcomes, all whilst being part of a forward-thinking and collaborative team.

Job Responsibility:

Inspecting and advising on the design, construction, maintenance, and refurbishment of commercial buildings
preparing detailed reports, schedules of works, and specifications
leading refurbishment and reinstatement projects using recognised building contracts
acting as Lead Consultant or Project Manager on higher-value schemes
advising on and applying statutory legislation including Building Regulations, CDM 2015, the Building Safety Act, and Party Wall matters
managing and negotiating dilapidations on behalf of landlords and tenants
supporting and mentoring APC candidates
playing an active role in business development, representing the consultancy and securing future work
understanding and interpreting legal documents including leases and development agreements

Requirements:

MRICS Accredited
a strong technical understanding of building pathology and contract administration
experience working across sectors, particularly commercial properties
comfortable managing complex projects and multiple stakeholders
working knowledge of relevant legislation and health & safety
sound report writing and negotiation skills
insurance reinstatement and defect diagnosis experience (preferred)
strong communication and client-facing skills
methodical, problem-solving mindset
a flexible and collaborative approach to project delivery
a passion for quality and continuous improvement
