Job Description

A client of mine, a multi-disciplinary consultancy with a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality surveying services across the UK, is seeking a Chartered Senior Building Surveyor to join their growing London team. This opportunity not only offers the successful Senior Building Surveyor the chance to lead on a diverse range of complex projects but also provides the support and structure to progress into an Associate or Director-level role in the near future.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead on a diverse range of complex projects
  • Take the lead on a variety of building surveying projects – from technical due diligence and defects analysis to project management and contract administration
  • Work closely with clients, provide strategic advice, and oversee the delivery of high-value schemes from inception to completion
  • Mentor junior colleagues
  • Play a key role in growing the team’s client base and reputation

Requirements

  • A degree in Building Surveying or a related discipline
  • MRICS (or significant progress towards chartership)
  • A full UK driving licence and access to transport
  • A deep understanding of building construction and property law, including the Party Wall etc. Act 1996
  • Strong experience across building surveys, contract administration, and pre-contract matters
  • Familiarity with the JCT suite and other standard forms of building contract
  • Capable of producing detailed reports, drawings, schedules, and contract documentation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A passion for mentoring junior staff and sharing expertise
