Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Blockchain Technical Architect to join our Corporate and Institutional Banking Technology Architecture team. In this role, you will oversee the design of blockchain solutions, ensuring alignment with the organization’s technology standards and strategic goals. You will act as a trusted advisor, providing technical guidance, co-constructing solutions with cross-functional teams, and driving innovation in blockchain adoption across the enterprise.

Job Responsibility:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, offering insights and recommendations on blockchain technology trends, opportunities, and risks
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and other architects to co-construct blockchain solutions that address complex banking challenges
  • Define and enforce blockchain technology standards, frameworks, and best practices across the organization
  • Evaluate and assess third-party providers solutions to ensure acquisition of high-quality solutions
  • Ensure blockchain solutions adhere to regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, PSD2, AML, KYC) and industry best practices
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in blockchain, DeFi, CBDCs, and AI, and assess their potential impact on the organization’s strategy
  • Work closely with business units and IT teams to align blockchain initiatives with broader organizational goals

Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of distributed ledger technology, consensus mechanisms (e.g., PoW, PoS, PBFT, QBFT, etc), and core cryptographic principles including hashing, digital signatures, and zero-knowledge proofs
  • Proficiency in tokenization, token standards (ERC-20, ERC-721), and smart contracts (including upgradable ones) for decentralized applications
  • Expertise in enterprise blockchain platforms such as Hyperledger Besu, Canton, Fabric, R3 Corda, and Quorum
  • Familiarity with permissioned blockchain architectures and their specific applications in banking
  • Proven ability to design scalable, secure, and high-performance blockchain solutions
  • Strong grasp of cybersecurity best practices for blockchain systems
  • Understanding of traditional financial systems like RTGS, SWIFT, trade finance, capital markets, and digital asset custody
  • Insight into how blockchain can enhance or replace conventional financial processes, including trends in decentralized finance (DeFi) and central bank digital currencies (CBDCs)
  • Experience with cloud technologies, containers, and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes
  • Experience with facilitating seamless interaction between various blockchain platforms and traditional financial systems
  • Strong understanding of financial systems, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
  • Certifications in blockchain technologies (e.g., Certified Blockchain Architect, Hyperledger Certified Professional) are a plus
  • English (read, spoken, written)
  • French (nice to have)
  • Autonomous, organized and delivery-focused with attention to detail
  • Proactive taking own initiative to mitigate risk, and prevent issues arising
