Job Responsibility:

  • Collaborate with biologists to understand and document analytical and data management requirements
  • Clinical genetic data analysis and reporting
  • Conduct research, lead development of bioinformatics software tools and curated databases
  • Develop coherent and integrated software and databases for biological problems
  • Develop data-analysis strategies, write algorithms, and deploy computational tools for the exploration of large datasets

  • Automate tasks using shell scripting
  • Conduct QA and validation of deposited data and metadata
  • Document program development, logic, coding and modifications

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of bioinformatics programming experience in an industry or academic setting
  • Demonstrated experience as scientific programmer
  • Very strong in Perl, Python, JAVA, C, C++, BioPerl, and shell in Linux environment
  • Experience in MySQL database design and development
  • Experience in web-based MVC application framework
  • Proficiency in object-oriented design and development
  • Experience in statistical programming using R preferably in genomics or genetic
  • Knowledge in Molecular biology and Biostatistics (preferable)

Nice to have:

Experience in RUST programming will be added advantage
