Job Description:

We are looking for a seasoned Billing & Revenue Operations leader with advanced expertise in Zuora to own and elevate our global subscription, billing, and revenue ecosystem. This role requires a strategic, highly autonomous operator who can independently drive system architecture, integrations, process optimization, and enterprise-level billing and revenue functions. The ideal candidate brings both hands-on mastery and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders at a senior level.

Job Responsibility:

  • Architect and oversee end-to-end billing operations within Zuora, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and scalability across complex subscription and revenue models
  • Lead advanced revenue recognition processes, including automation within Zuora Revenue, custom configurations, and technical oversight of ASC 606 compliance
  • Drive monthly/quarterly close activities with Finance, ensuring seamless alignment between billing, revenue, and the GL
  • Establish governance standards for billing data integrity, audit readiness, and system controls
  • Serve as the enterprise owner of Zuora, responsible for platform strategy, configuration, optimization, and roadmap execution
  • Design and maintain complex product catalogs, rate plans, charge models, workflows (Z-Workflow), notifications, and revenue rules
  • Manage and refine user roles, permission sets, and access frameworks with a deep understanding of compliance and security
  • Lead system testing cycles, regression testing, release management, and documentation for all Zuora updates and enhancements
  • Own all integrations between Zuora and downstream/upstream systems including Salesforce, ERP systems, payment gateways, and data warehouses
  • Collaborate with Engineering and RevOps to define data mapping, resolve synchronization issues, and optimize API or middleware-based data flows
  • Evaluate system performance and integration health, proactively identifying gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation
  • Lead design and testing for new integrations tied to scaling or transformational initiatives
  • Develop and implement a long-term operational strategy for billing and revenue, ensuring systems and processes support growth and evolving business models
  • Build robust SOPs, governance frameworks, and internal controls that improve accuracy, predictability, and audit readiness
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert to Executive Leadership, providing insights, forecasting support, and analysis on subscription metrics and revenue impacts
  • Deliver high-quality results with minimal direction, managing complex initiatives end-to-end while partnering across Finance, Sales Ops, Product, and Engineering

Requirements:

  • 5–8+ years of direct experience in Zuora Billing and Zuora Revenue, including deep configuration, architectural design, and system ownership
  • Proven background leading enterprise-level billing and revenue operations within a SaaS or subscription-based environment
  • Strong command of ASC 606, revenue automation, and billing compliance requirements
  • Expert-level understanding of Zuora integrations, data models, APIs, and workflows
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently, prioritize effectively, and manage complex cross-functional programs
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
