Job Description:

A Business Advisory Services (BAS) Senior Accountant I organizes and coordinates clients’ tax data for the accurate, timely completion of individual tax returns and simple to moderately complex corporate, partnership, and S-Corp tax returns. BAS Seniors are generally responsible for participating in all phases of an engagement. This position also involves QuickBooks consulting and training, outsourced accounting, and requires frequent collaboration with other departments and associates to help build deep client relationships.

Job Responsibility:

  • Communicates with engagement leaders and clients regarding open items and other pertinent matters in a timely manner
  • Performs tax return interviews with clients as needed
  • Provides technical assistance to clients in all areas of accounting
  • Leads client QuickBooks Training
  • Prepares payroll, sales tax, and MN Care tax reports in accordance with firm and professional standards as directed by engagement leaders
  • Creates trial balance, reconcile and tie out balance sheet and key income statement accounts
  • Reviews basic accounting trial balance
  • Trains and mentors staff on simple accounting and tax returns
  • Proactively manages project timelines and budgets

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in accounting or tax preparation preferred
  • Active CPA licensure preferred
  • Must be a member in good standing with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
  • Minimum of 40 hours of continuing professional education is required each year
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Required to sit for long periods
  • Extensive computer, keyboard, and mouse use
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
