Hopper Technology Solutions (HTS) Checkout combines market-leading payment services and best-in-class fraud detection to enhance the travel experience for users and drive revenue for partners. Our hosted checkout solution offers global coverage and currency support, a comprehensive suite of payment methods and an industry-leading anti-fraud technology. We are seeking a senior backend software engineer with experience building scalable and robust systems to join our team. As part of a cross-functional team of exceptional engineers and product managers, you will develop new features and provide best-in-class support to help our partners scale their businesses.
Job Responsibility:
Design, build and review code for our fraud and abuse backend platform
Iterate on features using Scala (no prior experience required) and technologies within GCP
Ship your first code in days, iterating on features in an agile manner
Operate autonomously but work closely with engineers and PMs to ensure high alignment
Collaborate cross-functionally with the product team and other Hopper teams
Requirements:
4+ years of experience building scalable backend systems
A strong understanding of distributed systems and how architectural decisions affect performance and maintainability
The ability to work with minimal guidance, be proactive and to handle uncertainty, ambiguity and the challenge of quickly evolving goals
Excelled in cross-functional teams, working fluidly with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Frontend Engineers, and other highly skilled specialists
Nice to have:
Prior experience in the payments and fraud space a plus
