Join our growing Integrations team in Prague, helping shape how Staffbase connects with third-party platforms at scale. This team is part of a broader initiative to bring integrations in-house and build a unified, high-performance integration platform. You’ll take ownership of backend systems that power seamless integrations between Staffbase and systems like ServiceNow, MS Sharepoint or Workday, driving automation and connectivity for thousands of enterprise customers. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy designing scalable architectures, solving complex backend challenges, and influencing technical direction in a collaborative environment. This is an initial 12-month fixed-term contract with the view of becoming a long-term opportunity as we continue to expand our Prague hub.
Job Responsibility:
Design, build, and maintain robust integration services between Staffbase and 3rd party systems
Drive architectural discussions and guide technical decisions to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability
Develop backend components and microservices using Java/Kotlin
Collaborate closely with frontend engineers to deliver cohesive end-to-end integration experiences
Mentor other engineers and promote best practices in code quality, testing, and system design
Partner with other integration teams to establish shared tooling, standards, and architecture patterns
Take ownership of how integrations are built and evolved as part of our growing platform
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in backend software development with Java or Kotlin
Strong understanding of REST APIs, integration patterns, and microservice architecture
Experience designing and operating scalable, cloud-based systems (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
Proven ability to make sound architectural decisions and influence engineering strategy
Strong problem-solving and leadership skills with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset
Enthusiasm for mentoring and fostering a collaborative engineering culture
Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
Appreciation of diversity and inclusivity in the workplace
Nice to have:
Experience with ServiceNow or similar enterprise platforms is a plus
Exposure to React/Typescript is a bonus
