In this role, you will help us move towards our vision: patients have easy, universal access to their health data through an insights-driven experience that helps them live healthier, longer lives. As a Backend Engineer on our Health Profile team, you will work on distributed systems by developing core products. The Health Profile team is within the Patient Engagement area, which mission is to make health data easily accessible and truly useful for patients, supporting better health decisions and long-term engagement with the app. The Health Profile team, specifically, is responsible of the Care Circle, Health Profile Foundations and Interoperability. You’ll have the opportunity to design and implement innovative features such as: Care Circle. Introduce family profiles on the Patients App; Health Profile. Create a structured version of the Health Profile; Lab Results. Extract and process lab results data from Medical Files; Public Health Integrations- P1. Synchronize Health Information from MyDr to Health Profile. You’ll thrive in this role if you’re interested in both the business and product context as well as the technical side.

Create new and maintain existing backend applications

Have a deep understanding of software development foundations over specific tools or frameworks. Prioritize good object-oriented programming practices, TDD, domain-driven design (DDD), event-driven architectures, and architectural styles and design patterns.
Requirements:
Strong backend experience with the flexibility to dive into different stacks as needed (PHP, JS, TS, .NET, Python, and cloud/infrastructure)
You have a solid understanding of Object Oriented Programming principles
You are familiar with (and preferably worked with) tools such as GIT, ELK Stack, DataDog, RabbitMQ, Symfony Messenger, MariaDB, GitHub Actions, Docker, and Redis
Experience in Agile methodologies, with a particular focus on Extreme Programming (XP) practices, and remain committed to continuous improvement and adaptive planning
You continuously seek innovations and improvements while understanding the business perspective
You have a curious nature with a passion for learning and teaching. Actively contribute to the flow of knowledge within the team, fostering a culture of continuous development and collaboration
You can communicate in English – both spoken and written - min. B2 level
You are open to receiving and giving valuable feedback.
Nice to have:
Strong backend experience in PHP
Good knowledge of PHP (7.4/8.2) and Symfony (3.3/6.4)
