Job Description

Financial Automation is a newly formed team within the Revenue Assurance group, sitting at the intersection of engineering, finance, and commercial operations. We build and own the systems that automate critical financial processes - fiscalization (tax reporting), e-invoicing, and other financial flows - directly impacting Bolt's global financial operations and regulatory compliance across markets. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll be a founding member of the team and the technical lead for a brand-new domain. You'll architect, build, and launch the backend platforms that power Bolt's financial automation - coding mainly in Node.js and TypeScript (don't worry, you don't need to know Node.js beforehand!). You'll partner closely with Finance, Commerce, and Product stakeholders to translate complex regulatory and operational needs into scalable backend systems and APIs Bolt depends on. Product-oriented thinking is deeply ingrained in our engineering team's approach, so you'll have the chance to shape and lead initiatives end-to-end.

Job Responsibility

  • Architecting, designing, developing, and deploying the scalable and reliable core platforms for financial flows ensuring data completeness, consistency, quality and compliance in different regions
  • Building integrations with Bolt's existing backend services and various third-party tools and APIs
  • Setting the technical direction for the new domain and establishing engineering standards aligned with ITGC / DORA requirements
  • Providing technical leadership - mentoring engineers, driving system design reviews, and raising the bar for quality
  • Partnering with Finance, Commerce, and Product stakeholders to translate complex regulatory and operational needs into reliable automations
  • Helping lead features and initiatives from idea to positive execution
