Job Description:

An enthusiastic and driven Automation Engineer is sought to contribute to our dynamic testing development team. This role will involve designing, developing, and maintaining In Sprint & E2E regression automated test scripts and frameworks to ensure the quality and reliability of our software applications. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between manual testing practices and robust automation solutions, working independently while collaborating effectively with Development and QA teams.

Job Responsibility:

Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Java and Python with strong focus on Selenium WebDriver
Execute automated tests and analyse results
Identify, document, and track software defects
Participate in manual testing activities including exploratory and ad-hoc manual tests
Contribute to automation framework enhancements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (developers, business analysts, other QA engineers)
Troubleshoot and debug issues related to test environments, test data, and automation script failures
Maintain clear and concise documentation for test cases, automation scripts, and test results

Requirements:

Minimum 8-9+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance
Significant portion dedicated to automation testing
Demonstrated experience transitioning manual test cases into automated scripts
High level of programming and SQL skills (Java/.NET, Python, development in Linux environment with shell scripting)
Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
Extensive hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver for web application automation
Familiarity with various testing frameworks integrated with Selenium
Solid understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC) and testing methodologies (Agile, Scrum)
Proficient in using Git or similar version control systems
Exposure to RESTful API testing using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or frameworks like Rest-Assured
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience integrating automation tests into tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps
Basic SQL knowledge for data validation and test data preparation
Exposure on functional Test Automation & hybrid, keyword-driven, data-driven, Behaviour Driven automation frameworks
QA Experience in defining, designing & executing test cases
Create, manage and own testing documentation in Confluence and JIRA project repositories
Track QA metrics, estimate work and generate reports for management reporting
Well versed with Zephyr in Jira for managing test plans, environment specific test cycles and strategies for enterprise applications
Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience

Nice to have:

Previous experience with UFT or other commercial automation tools
Exposure to both functional and non-functional testing, manual and automation testing preferable in banking and financial domain
