We are seeking a highly experienced and self-sufficient Senior Automation Engineer to own the automation, integration, and continuous improvement of our ITSM, monitoring, and network-related tooling.This role will be the sole automation specialist for these platforms. The successful candidate must be able to design, build, operate, and continuously improve automation solutions independently, while also acting as a technical advisor to the wider operations and engineering teams, who will primarily be users of the tools
Job Responsibility:
Design, develop, and maintain production-grade automation scripts, primarily using Python
Build automation covering ITSM processes (incident, problem, change, request, CMDB), monitoring alerts, event correlation, and auto-remediation, and network-related workflows and integrations where applicable
Develop reusable libraries, frameworks, and utilities to standardize automation
Act as technical owner for automation and integrations across ITSM platforms, monitoring and event management tools, and network telemetry and alerting sources
Configure and customize tools to improve alert quality, workflow efficiency, and operational outcomes
Integrate systems using APIs, webhooks, and event-driven mechanisms
Proactively identify automation opportunities and process inefficiencies
Provide expert guidance and recommendations on tool usage and configuration, automation feasibility and design, and best practices for ITSM, monitoring, and operational workflows
Drive roadmap-level improvements rather than only reacting to requests
Ensure all automation is reliable, secure, scalable, and well-documented
Produce clear technical documentation and user-facing guides
Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation, integration, or event-handling issues
Requirements:
Strong hands-on experience with Python scripting (required)
Solid experience with REST APIs, authentication methods, and integrations
Solid experience with data formats such as JSON, YAML, and XML
Solid experience with Git and version control best practices
Experience designing event-driven and automated workflows, including auto-remediation
Hands-on experience with ITSM platforms (e.g. ServiceNow, BMC, Jira Service Management, or similar)
Strong working knowledge of monitoring and event management tools (e.g. Zabbix, Prometheus, Dynatrace, SCOM, SolarWinds, Nagios, etc.)
Understanding of incident, problem, change, alerting, and on-call operational processes
Practical experience working with enterprise networking technologies, including Cisco networking platforms and Palo Alto firewalls (or equivalent enterprise firewall solutions)
Understanding of network monitoring and alerting, network incidents and troubleshooting workflows
Ability to integrate network events and telemetry into ITSM and monitoring automation
Experience with one or more cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
Exposure to DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure-as-Code concepts and tooling
Familiarity with automated deployment, configuration management, or operational automation patterns
Senior-level experience (typically 7+ years in automation, operations engineering, or related roles)
Proven ability to operate as a sole or lead automation engineer
Comfortable owning design decisions and working with minimal oversight
