The Senior Accountant applies their expertise in accounting principles, firm policies, and financial regulations to deliver high-quality service to clients. This role involves leading engagements, collaborating on process improvements, and providing guidance to junior staff. A Senior Accountant demonstrates initiative, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to professional growth while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Job Responsibility:
Collaborates with the Engagement Manager to oversee engagements, ensuring consistent and effective client communication throughout the process
Identifies opportunities to enhance engagement efficiency, expand service offerings, and recommend improvements to client processes
Maintains compliance with FASB, AICPA, GAAP, and APB standards across all engagements
Prepares reports, manages projects, and optimizes the use of department resources to meet firm objectives
Stays informed on economic, political, and legislative trends while identifying opportunities for specialization within the firm
Conducts staff performance evaluations, supports recruitment efforts through networking, and contributes to staff training and development
Provides regular updates to leadership on engagement progress, challenges, and key developments
Mentors and guides junior staff, fostering skill development and confidence
Analyzes and implements effective solutions to address significant challenges, ensuring successful outcomes
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred
Minimum of 3 years of Public Accounting Audit experience required
Active CPA licensure preferred, or efforts toward achieving
Must be a member in good standing with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants (MNCPA)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong time management and organizational abilities
