Senior Attorney

• Provide full legal representation to tenants in housing-related matters
• Litigate in housing court, appellate courts, and administrative tribunals, including tenancy termination proceedings and housing benefits hearings
• Handle all phases of litigation, including client counseling, negotiation, motion practice, hearings, trials, and advocacy before government agencies
• Participate in intake, client outreach, and community education initiatives
• Mentor junior staff and law graduates, including court supervision and guidance on legal strategy and filings
• Assist with team meetings, CLE trainings, and strategic planning effort

• Juris Doctor degree and admission to practice law in New York State or eligibility for admission
• At least three years of litigation experience in housing or landlord-tenant law
• Proven ability to manage a high volume of cases with strong organizational and case management skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders
• Demonstrated commitment to serving low-income communities and promoting social justice
• Experience mentoring or supervising legal staff at the entry level
• Familiarity with housing subsidy programs, tenant advocacy, and public benefits

Multilingual skills and prior community outreach experience are highly desirable
