Job Description

A national law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Attorney to join the California team remotely. This position focuses on civil litigation, primarily involving foreclosure-related cases and defense litigation for institutional banks.

Job Responsibility

  • Working up cases and taking them to trial as needed (90%)
  • High volume and fast paced
  • Supervising 3 associates (10%)
  • Offering guidance to associates who are newer to the profession

Requirements

  • CA bar license and living in CA
  • Someone who has taken cases to jury trial
  • Knowledge of billing time
  • Someone who is comfortable self-directing their own cases, and supervising cases of associates
  • If they haven’t worked as a formal supervisor, should have experience mentoring less-tenured associates
  • Extensive trial experience
  • Ability to manage cases independently
  • Jury trial experience on the civil side is ideal

Nice to have

  • Maybe they started out as a prosecutor/PD/got their trial experience there then turned to civil lit
  • Depos are helpful because they examine evidentiary issues
