This role will initially focus on equity settlement and related cash, position, and suspense reconciliations. Over time, responsibilities will expand through cross-training as business needs evolve. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, control-driven environment.
Job Responsibility:
Perform DTC equity settlement functions, including ACAT and non-ACAT customer transfers, pair-offs, SPO charges, RAD management, and fail reporting
Manage fails and buy-ins, including issuance of broker-to-broker buy-in notices and monitoring through DTC’s Obligation Warehouse
Handle regulatory and operational settlement processes, including FINRA extensions, DK reporting, new issue processing, ETF settlements, obligation warehouse activity, and EOD balancing
Perform daily reconciliation of cash, position, and suspense accounts and resolve breaks in a timely manner
Execute and document daily key controls in accordance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, including Reg SHO, Reg T, and SEC Rule 15c3-3
Identify, design, and implement automation opportunities to improve reporting accuracy, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs to support training, incident response, and operational continuity)
Participate in cross-training and knowledge sharing to drive process improvement, scalability, and team effectiveness
Requirements:
3+ years of experience at a financial institution, preferably in DTC settlements or custody operations
Willingness to obtain the SIE and Series 99 licenses
Strong risk and control mindset with experience operating in regulated environments
Proven experience working with large data sets and performing operational reconciliations
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing competing priorities
Experience in a fast-paced, multifaceted broker-dealer, clearing, or custody operations environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing process improvements
Nice to have:
Experience in ACAT related transfers is a strong plus
