You will be responsible for supporting the daily margining activities across the Fixed Income Repo and Discretionary lending business (Central Funding Group) at RBC Capital Markets. The purpose of the role is to champion the team's digital transformation strategy, owning key projects to introduce process automation and live affirmation platforms. You will be the primary point of accountability for these initiatives while supporting daily margining operations and collaborating across the wider EMEA team. This will enable a future-proof, scalable, and efficient operations team to support business growth. This function sits within the wider EMEA margining team within the COO Group at RBC.
Job Responsibility:
Help oversee projects for the team on introduction of new margin automation solutions, and post trade vendor platforms to ensure all CFG counterparties are fully collateralised and marked to market across all entities in accordance with the GMRA/GMSLA or other relevant legal agreements
Manage on-going vendor service relationships to assist in the continued integration and drive automation efficiencies
Play a key role in aiding the delivery of new Business strategies and solutions and adopt into our margining team procedures
Be a point of contact for the CFG desk in relation to collateral questions
Manage and agree both bi-lateral and Tri-party margin calls
Monitor and manage the instruction and settlement of both Bilateral and triparty settlements
Ensure all relevant daily tasks are appropriately completed in accordance with daily task lists and adhering to RBCs processes and procedures
Participate in portfolio reconciliation with counterparties when a margin dispute arises
Investigate margin settlement fails and liaise with both external clients and internal teams to reach a resolution
Requirements:
Experience of implementing new systems and developing STP solutions
Advanced Microsoft VBA Excel skills
A good understanding of the main legal terms in the GMRA and GMSLA that govern the margining process
Extensive experience with vendor platforms such as Pirum, EquiLend and TriResolve
Solid working knowledge of Acadia Margin Manager
Understanding on how to on-board both Acadia RELAY and On-network Acadia clients through Acadia Agreement Manager
A good understanding of Equities, Fixed Income, Triparty and basic trading strategies
A strong working knowledge of the main Tri-party agents (Euroclear, BNY, JPM, Clearstream)
Excellent knowledge and understanding of Securities Borrowing and Lending and Repo processes
Experience with Nostro and Depot reconciliations
Nice to have:
A broad knowledge of one or more regulatory regimes, including. CASS, Transaction Reporting (SFTR), MiFID II, EMIR
Knowledge of Centrally Cleared and Bilateral OTC margin processes
Proficient in FIS APEX, GLOSS, Bloomberg, Python
Previous involvement European T+1, USTC
