Job Description

In this vital role, you will support the Operations Finance team, with a primary focus on standard costing execution and analysis across Amgen’s manufacturing network. You will work closely with global stakeholders and play a key role in ensuring accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.

Job Responsibility

  • Support the end‑to‑end standard costing process, including preparation, system updates, and validation of standard costs
  • Maintain and update standard costs in SAP S/4Hana (including material, BOM, routing, and overhead components)
  • Perform monthly costing-related variance analysis (standard vs actual), including PPV, usage, and overhead variances
  • Support inventory accounting activities, including inventory valuation, reconciliations, and roll‑forwards
  • Assist with absorption testing, excess capacity analysis, and related reporting
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules related to inventory and costing
  • Support audit requirements, in collaboration with Cost Accounting
  • Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, and Global Finance teams to resolve costing issues and data gaps
  • Support S/4HANA system enhancements, testing, and data validation related to costing and inventory
  • Participate in continuous improvement and automation initiatives within costing and inventory processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in cost accounting, inventory accounting, or manufacturing finance
  • Hands‑on experience with standard costing and variance analysis in a complex manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with SAP (S/4HANA preferred)
  • Fluency in English

Nice to have

  • CA / CMA / CPA or MBA (Finance)
  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or manufacturing environments
  • Strong understanding of inventory accounting and US GAAP
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • experience with automation or reporting tools is a plus
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a global, matrixed environment
