A respected California law firm with a strong presence in Downtown LA is seeking a senior-level Litigation Attorney to handle sophisticated business and real estate disputes involving substantial financial exposure. The firm represents developers, property owners, private companies, and investors in matters that require strategic judgment, courtroom experience, and a hands-on litigation approach. This role offers meaningful case ownership, consistent client contact, and a sustainable billable expectation for an attorney who wants depth of work without a volume-driven practice.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage cases from inception through trial or resolution with limited partner oversight
  • Develop litigation strategy, budgets, and case timelines
  • Draft and argue dispositive motions and discovery motions
  • Take and defend fact and expert depositions
  • Conduct legal research and prepare trial briefs, jury instructions, and motions in limine
  • Prepare and examine witnesses at trial or arbitration
  • Lead settlement strategy and participate in mediations
  • Maintain direct client communication and manage client expectations

Requirements:

  • 6-12+ years of California civil litigation experience
  • Substantial experience handling business or real estate litigation matters
  • Strong motion practice, discovery, and deposition skills
  • Trial or arbitration experience in a lead or second-chair capacity
  • Excellent legal writing, oral advocacy, and strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to independently manage complex matters
  • Comfortable meeting a ~1,750 billable hour requirement
