Our growing construction law firm in Towson, Maryland is seeking a Senior Associate Attorney to join our dynamic practice. We represent owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and design professionals in a wide range of construction-related matters. Job Responsibility
Handle a broad range of construction law matters from inception through resolution
Draft, review, and negotiate construction contracts and related agreements
Advise clients on project risk, claims avoidance, and compliance issues
Manage litigation, arbitration, mediation, and other dispute resolution proceedings
Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
Represent clients in court, arbitration hearings, mediations, and depositions
Provide practical, business-oriented counsel to clients in the construction industry
Support client development efforts and help maintain strong client relationships
Mentor junior attorneys and collaborate with legal support staff as needed
Requirements
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active admission to the Maryland Bar, or ability to waive in promptly
5+ years of experience in construction law, commercial litigation, or a related practice area
Strong experience with construction contracts, claims, and dispute resolution
Excellent writing, research, negotiation, and advocacy skills
Ability to manage multiple matters independently and efficiently
Strong interpersonal skills and a client-focused approach
Nice to have
Experience representing contractors, subcontractors, owners, or design professionals
Familiarity with public and private construction projects
Experience with mechanic’s liens, bid protests, delay claims, defect claims, and payment disputes
Background in arbitration forums and complex commercial litigation
Admission in additional jurisdictions, such as Washington, D.C. or Virginia
