An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced shipping and commodities disputes Lawyer to join a highly regarded international practice. This is a senior position offering exposure to major cross-border disputes, while enjoying a more balanced and flexible working arrangement than typical City roles. This role is based in Guildford.
Job Responsibility:
Advising on complex, high-value shipping and trading disputes, including charterparty, COA, bill of lading, and sale contract matters
Handling live disputes
Managing cases from start to finish
Leading client relationships
Mentoring junior Lawyers
Being involved in business development and practice growth
Requirements:
England & Wales-qualified Solicitor with 8+ years’ PQE
Strong experience in shipping or commodities disputes, encompassing litigation and/or arbitration
Excellent case management, drafting, and client-handling skills
Confident operating independently with a commercially pragmatic approach
Ambitious and team-oriented, with an interest in building long-term client relationships
