Job Description:

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced shipping and commodities disputes Lawyer to join a highly regarded international practice. This is a senior position offering exposure to major cross-border disputes, while enjoying a more balanced and flexible working arrangement than typical City roles. This role is based in Guildford.

Job Responsibility:

  • Advising on complex, high-value shipping and trading disputes, including charterparty, COA, bill of lading, and sale contract matters
  • Handling live disputes
  • Managing cases from start to finish
  • Leading client relationships
  • Mentoring junior Lawyers
  • Being involved in business development and practice growth

Requirements:

  • England & Wales-qualified Solicitor with 8+ years’ PQE
  • Strong experience in shipping or commodities disputes, encompassing litigation and/or arbitration
  • Excellent case management, drafting, and client-handling skills
  • Confident operating independently with a commercially pragmatic approach
  • Ambitious and team-oriented, with an interest in building long-term client relationships
