The Senior Assistant Structural Engineer will support Amentum’s Integrated Delivery Solutions (IDS) team in delivering structural engineering inputs for design and construction projects across highly regulated sectors (e.g., infrastructure, industrial, energy). You will contribute to structural analysis and design tasks, support preparation of engineering deliverables, and work closely with multi‑disciplinary teams and senior engineers. At this level, you will be building your technical knowledge, developing familiarity with processes, project governance, and client requirements. You will work on a range of straightforward engineering assignments, receiving a moderate level of guidance and direction, with increasing independence as competence grows. Although the role is based in Poland, projects primarily follow UK/European standards, with possible exposure to US codes.
Job Responsibility
Develop 3D models and 2D drawings for concrete and steel structures
Support structural analysis and design under senior engineer supervision
Perform calculations and checks for structural elements using finite element method or hand calculation, preparing calculations reports
Work in BIM environments (Revit / Tekla), including model reviews and clash checks
Work in Staad Pro, SAP2000, IdeaStatica, Mathcad
Coordinate with multi‑disciplinary teams
Requirements
Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BSc/MSc)
Several years of relevant experience in structural engineering
Experience using Eurocodes (EN 1990–1999)
Experience in Revit and/or Tekla
Experience in RSAP, Staad Pro, SAP2000 or other finite element software
Fluent in English (B2 or higher) and Polish
Willingness to learn and work within highly regulated sectors (defence, energy, industrial)
