Reporting to the Manager, Asset and Compliance, the Senior Asset Maintenance Coordinator provides specialist leadership in the planning and delivery of capital, renewal and maintenance programs across a diverse asset portfolio. The role has a strong focus on high-risk, critical and compliance sensitive assets.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and support the delivery of asset replacement, renewal, and major maintenance projects, ensuring project managers and delivery teams meet defined scope, budget, schedule, and compliance requirements, while integrating sound asset management principles and science objectives
Apply and maintain advanced knowledge of asset compliance frameworks and statutory regimes, ensuring alignment with legislative, regulatory, and CSIRO governance requirements
Lead the delivery of concurrent program activities in accordance with legislative, regulatory, and organisational compliance frameworks, including structured stakeholder engagement, consultation, and controlled change management processes
Manage end-to-end program delivery for assigned portfolios, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with approved standards, specifications, and compliance controls
Provide leadership within multi-disciplinary project teams, taking responsibility for team performance, collaboration, and delivery outcomes through strong relationship management, influence, and professional credibility
Establish and maintain proactive, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, researchers, service providers, and regulators, and implement best practice methodologies to deliver high-quality, sustainable outcomes
Oversee, monitor, and report on portfolio performance, including cost, risk, compliance, and delivery metrics, to ensure services remain aligned with stakeholder needs, organisational objectives, and long-term sustainability
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience leading complex asset programs and projects, including capital, renewal and major maintenance activities, with a strong focus on safety, compliance, risk and whole of life asset management
Strong expertise in asset compliance, risk and safety frameworks, with the ability to interpret and apply legislative, regulatory and organisational requirements and embed governance controls across procurement, contract management and project delivery
Proven capability in planning, prioritising and delivering concurrent programs, managing scope, budget, schedule and quality, and exercising sound professional judgement in complex or ambiguous environments
Demonstrated ability to develop clear scopes of work, delivery approaches and contract documentation that enable high-quality, fit-for-purpose, and compliant outcomes
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence multi‑disciplinary teams and stakeholders, including project managers, regional teams, service providers and regulators, through strong relationships, professional credibility and collaboration
Experience monitoring, analysing and reporting on portfolio performance, including cost, risk, compliance and delivery metrics, to support decision making, assurance and long-term sustainability
Proven commitment to continuous improvement and assurance, using performance data, audit outcomes and risk trends to strengthen asset governance, compliance maturity and organisational capability
Proven leadership and coaching capability, fostering accountability, ethical behaviour, professional development and alignment with organisational values
Asset Compliance, Risk & Governance - Diploma / Degree in: Work Health & Safety (WHS), and/or Risk Management (ISO 31000), Compliance / Governance / Law (Business Law focus), Quality Management (ISO 9001), Environmental Management (ISO 14001)
Professional Certifications: Certified Compliance Professional (CCP – Governance Institute), ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 Lead Auditor, NEBOSH / IOSH (Safety – if applicable), Risk Management Certification (RMIA / AICD short courses), Professional Certifications in Facilities Management Association (FMA) Certification and/or Project Management Certification
