The Field Service Scheduling team within Business & Industry Copilots (BIC) seeks a Senior Applied Scientist to help realize our vision of building a state-of-the-art scheduling service that sets the standard for our industry.
Job Responsibility:
Optimization experience with scheduling algorithms
Stay abreast of state-of-the-art approaches (including deep learning models) to address vehicle routing problems
Designing experiments, creating benchmarks and identifying success metrics, and writing production code to implement the scheduling algorithm(s) with high quality
Collaborate closely with research organizations to bridge the gap between research and practice
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years related experience (e.g., statistics predictive analytics, research)
OR Master's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)
OR Doctorate in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field AND 1+ year(s) related experience (e.g., statistics, predictive analytics, research)
OR equivalent experience
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
Microsoft Cloud Background Check
Occasional travel (0% to 25%)
Nice to have:
Master’s or PhD focus in Artificial Intelligence (Planning and Scheduling), Operations Research (OR) or a related field
Background in Multi-agent Planning and Scheduling and/or Operations Research
Experience running your algorithms in a production environment and responding to customer inquiries
Experience in reinforcement learning
Experience in Genetic / heuristic scheduling algorithms
Proven experience in solving vehicle routing problems
Demonstrated analytical abilities to dissect complex problems and propose effective solutions
