You will join our multidisciplinary Zurich & Berlin-based Size and Fit Team, composed of machine learning / computer vision / deep learning researchers, software engineers, and full stack developers from 20+ different nationalities. We provide recommendations and predictions on customer size and fit choices and conduct focused experiments using emerging technologies to solve the challenges. We believe that an article that doesn’t fit well is the wrong article for our customers. As a Senior Applied Scientist in the Size and Fit organisation, you will use our unique datasets to drive bold research experiments to provide 50+ million of Zalando customers with game-changing size and fit advice.
Job Responsibility:
Bring in your extensive research experience in developing, evaluating, and deploying deep learning models to help our customers make better sense out of confusing sizing systems
Propose, lead, and build bold initiatives with the ownership from development to deployment
Contribute to our scientific endeavours through external publications in top-tier journals and conferences
Act as a mentor to junior scientists, foster collaboration with other teams, and actively share knowledge and expertise within Zalando’s science community
Forge close partnerships with applied science leaders and product managers, and other business stakeholders to deliver state-of-the-art deep learning solutions to our customers and uncover new opportunities for growth.
Requirements:
Ph.D or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field
2+ years of research experience in a university or industry, in a role with primary emphasis on AI research
In-depth experiences in deep learning, in particular vision language transformer models
Proficiency in Python and PyTorch
Experience implementing software and executing complex experiments involving large AI models and datasets
Publication records at top conferences and journals such as CVPR, ICCV/ECCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, NeurIPS, ICML, PAMI, IJCV, etc.
