WiseTech Global is an Engineer-led company, with a focus on building secure, scalable products for the global logistics industry. It goes without saying that protecting the data of the world’s largest freight forwarders is critical to the function of the international supply chain, so as an Application Security Engineer you will play a key role in ensuring the defense for thousands of users globally. This role sits within a team of highly skilled engineers, building out world-leading security solutions across our SaaS platform, internal function, and product offering. You will work within our Security function to help ensure the ongoing security of our product offerings. This is a highly technical role, suited to a Sydney-based person who is passionate about technology and the tools that build it. You will be constantly exposed to new technology, so a passion for learning and digging deep is non-negotiable.
Job Responsibility:
Working closely with product and development teams to improve security at every stage of the development lifecycle
Creating scalable controls to prevent and detect software vulnerabilities across large codebases
Conducting threat modeling exercises and design reviews with internal teams
Building, maintaining, and operating application security tooling
Performing proactive and regular security assessments of our applications, feeding the results back into improvement initiatives
Taking end-to-end ownership of initiatives dedicated to improving application security
Developing and delivering training to development teams on secure development practices
Requirements:
Prior experience in application security or related role (including performing tasks such as threat modeling, secure code reviews, security testing, etc.)
Intimate knowledge of common software security vulnerabilities and their preventions (e.g. CWE, OWASP, etc.)
Experience leading the delivery of projects end-to-end
Strong communication skills and a focus on collaboration within & across teams
