Our Solution Engineering team is a strategic partner to the sales organization and responsible for building a compelling vision of the Bentley solutions for our users and prospects in some of the largest organizations in the world. As a Senior Application Engineer, you will serve a vital role in the Solution Engineering organization as a brand specialist who provides advanced independent technical guidance and best practices to demonstrate product capabilities, complex workflows, and value to users and potential users of Bentley applications. The Senior Application Engineer has a strong functional understanding of Bentley products and solutions around Construction Management . You will develop the necessary content and datasets, delivers presentations to users and potential users to showcase product capabilities, understand their requirements and articulate this knowledge to the rest of the organization. By developing a unique relationship and understanding of both the Bentley products and solutions as well as the user needs, the SEnior Application Engineer plays a key role in our ability to use that knowledge in Account Advancement, User Advancement, and Product Advancement.

Job Responsibility:

  • Serve as the technical liaison between Account Advancement and User Success teams
  • Create effective presentations and demonstrations that illustrate the capabilities, workflows, and value of Bentley Construction applications to users
  • Develop and prepare datasets for user presentations and demonstrations
  • Engage directly with users to conduct discovery sessions and define requirements
  • Develop content (i.e., videos) that can be delivered in one-to-one or one-to-many modes
  • Deliver presentations and provide support for corporate sales and marketing events
  • Contribute to written proposal development and submission
  • Prepare and recommend scope of services for User Success to implement
  • Provide timely feedback on user interactions to improve sales and marketing efforts
  • Prepare and deliver relevant feedback to Product Teams to improve our products (from product issues to user needs)
  • Work with Product teams to stay up to date with current releases of Bentley applications
  • Understanding Transportation industry design standards as well as methodologies and making recommendations for conformant product configurations
  • Stay updated on Industry trends and competitor offerings to maintain a competitive edge
  • Coordinate the preparation and presentation of complex cross-brand processes (usually led by a Solution Architect) that require interoperability between Bentley brands
  • Participate in pilot or proof of concept tests with users
  • Mentor and guide less experienced colleagues

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Technology, or a related field, preferably an infrastructure-related background
  • 10+ years of technical sales experience in the infrastructure industry, with additional knowledge or experience in the Engineering, Construction, or Design industry
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure software technologies, such as virtualization, cloud computing, storage, networking, and security as they relate to transportation, water, energy, mining, or building infrastructure
  • Experience deploying new technology into a workforce to inspire innovation, change, and efficiency
  • Deep knowledge of Bentley Systems solutions for Construction and Project Delivery or competitive Solutions
  • Travel requirement up to 50%
  • Excellent speaking, presentation, and demonstration skills
  • Ability to explain complex topics to audiences of all levels of knowledge and seniority
  • Independent judgment, creativity, and strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn new complex products
