Job Description:

As a Senior Analytical Engineer, you will be expected to: Technical expertise: Contribute to the design and implementation of complex data modelling solutions. Maintain a deep understanding of best practices in data modelling and data transformation. Strategic collaboration: Partner with business stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into actionable data initiatives. Clearly communicate data insights to leadership and influence data-driven decision making. Leading data initiatives: Own and drive complex data projects from conception to implementation. Ensure the successful delivery of these projects to meet business needs, and that best practices of software development in data workflows are being applied. Mentoring and coaching: Foster a culture of learning and development by mentoring junior Analytical Engineers. Provide guidance and support to help them excel in their roles. Staying at the forefront: Proactively identify and implement emerging data technologies and trends to futureproof the data infrastructure and maximise its impact.

Requirements:

  • Advanced expertise in SQL data querying and manipulation
  • In-depth knowledge and ability to optimise complex queries
  • Extensive experience in designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimising complex data models using Kimball dimensional models
  • Proficiency in a data transformation tool like dbt (or similar tools) to build and manage data pipelines
  • Solid experience and leadership in implementing and maintaining orchestration tools like Airflow for data scheduling and automation
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to lead and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Proven track record of identifying and solving complex data challenges with innovative and efficient solutions

Nice to have:

  • Experience of Python is a plus
  • Data Vault is a plus
  • Experience designing and deploying solutions using Apache Spark for large-scale data processing is a plus
  • Experience managing data solutions on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus
