Job Description:

Are you an experienced Agile Coach with a strong background in Public Sector? Do you have experience supporting teams within a multiple-team environment? We're looking for an Agile Coach for an initial 12 month contract. This position can be worked remotely, but will require up to 4 visits on-site in Victoria BC to facilitate in-person facilitations.

Job Responsibility:

  • Coach teams, product owners, scrum masters and leaders in Agile values, principles, roles, and ceremonies
  • Mentor product owners in backlog prioritization, refinement, and engagement with stakeholders
  • Support teams in self organization, collaboration, continuous improvement, and constructive conflict resolution
  • Facilitate cross team alignment across streams delivering connected services
  • Lead or support multiteam planning, roadmap sessions, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Identify and assist in resolving cross team dependencies, risks, and delivery challenges
  • Assess team structures and delivery processes and recommend improvements
  • Recommend and help implement Agile frameworks, tools, and practices that enhance collaboration and delivery flow
  • Introduce or refine delivery metrics (e.g., velocity, flow measures, predictability) to track progress and improvement
  • Support organizational adoption of Agile practices and alignment with public sector governance frameworks
  • Facilitate workshops and large group planning or visioning sessions with internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead or support Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand ups, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Facilitate workshops and coordination meetings to support alignment and delivery
  • Support teams in documenting requirements, decisions, and delivery artefacts using tools such as Jira, and Confluence

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience providing Agile coaching services
  • Advanced Agile certification
  • Demonstrated experience coaching teams in Agile values, principles, ceremonies, and roles
  • Experience assessing and improving team structures and delivery processes
  • Experience facilitating large scale planning and strategic workshops
  • Experience in or understanding of public or regulated sector environments
  • Strong communication, facilitation, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills

Nice to have:

  • Minimum 5 years experience coaching in scaled Agile or multiteam environments (minimum 5 teams)
  • Experience working with connected services, cross ministry programs, or complex delivery environments
  • Experience with Agile product and delivery tools (Jira, Confluence, digital delivery frameworks)
