This is a remote role based in the U.S. with an expectation to work Eastern Time hours and occasional travel to Boston. The Senior Advisor serves as an embedded advisor for a statewide public health data solutions initiative, acting as a counterpart to technical program leadership. This role ensures public health program priorities, operational realities, and policy considerations are clearly defined and effectively translated into system design and implementation decisions. This position brings a strong public health informatics perspective, bridging public health practice, data governance, and technology delivery to support surveillance, environmental health, and other core public health functions. The Senior Advisor partners closely with leadership, technical teams, and vendors to align priorities, surface assumptions, and guide informed decision-making across domains. Candidates must come from a public health informatics/data background and be a SME in Salesforce Public Sector Solutions.
Job Responsibility:
Serve as the central coordination point for public health program stakeholders, ensuring business needs inform system design and functionality
Translate between public health operations, data architecture, and technical implementation to ensure accurate representation of workflows
Lead business-side project enablement, including planning, dependency management, milestone tracking, and delivery oversight
Maintain project documentation including timelines, risks, decision logs, and leadership updates
Collaborate cross-functionally with IT project managers, developers, data architects, and vendors to ensure alignment across workstreams
Support governance processes, leadership briefings, and escalation of key risks or decisions
Monitor and manage project budgets, including forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting
Translate policy, regulatory, and programmatic requirements into system and data specifications
Analyze current public health workflows and design future-state processes optimized for integrated digital systems
Support change management efforts including training, communication, and organizational readiness
Identify and resolve misalignments across stakeholders to prevent downstream issues
Partner with technical teams to ensure solutions reflect modern data practices, including interoperability and standardized data models
Requirements:
Master’s degree in Public Health, Public Health Informatics, Information Systems, Public Administration, or related field
7–12+ years of experience advising on complex programs at the intersection of public health and data initiatives
Demonstrated experience applying public health informatics principles to system design or implementation
Experience in advisory, strategy, or translational roles within multi-stakeholder environments
Strong understanding of state and local public health operations and ability to translate program needs into technical requirements
Working knowledge of modern data concepts such as interoperability, data lakes, and standardized data models
Proven ability to facilitate complex conversations and align stakeholders with differing priorities
Exposure to agile or hybrid delivery environments
Nice to have:
Experience with public sector data modernization initiatives
Familiarity with public health data standards and systems (e.g., HL7, FHIR, surveillance systems)
Experience with CRM-based public sector platforms such as Salesforce Public Sector Solutions or similar tools
