The Senior Accounting Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of Frontier Door and Cabinet’s accounting function across manufacturing and construction business segments. This role manages a distributed team of offshore and onshore accounting professionals, ensures the accuracy and timeliness of the month-end close, and maintains high standards of financial reporting quality. The Senior Accounting Manager is primarily an operational and people leadership role focused on keeping the accounting function running smoothly, developing team members, supporting multistate tax and compliance coordination, and contributing to process improvement and automation initiatives directed by the Director of Finance.
Job Responsibility:
Own and coordinate the full month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process
Prepare and review accurate, timely financial statements and P&L reports
Coordinate year-end close procedures including preparation of audit support schedules
Prepare and maintain debt schedules and borrowing base certificates
Review and post payroll journal entries
Manage and develop offshore and onshore Senior Accountants
Oversee the Accounts Payable team’s daily operations
Coordinate multistate tax and compliance obligations
Build and maintain cross-training documentation
Monitor daily bank balances and cash position
Oversee ACH, wire, and payment processes
Manage the corporate credit card program
Oversee ERP system utilization across the GL, AP, and AR modules
Identify inefficiencies in day-to-day accounting workflows
Support special projects and process improvement initiatives
Work with Power BI financial dashboards and reporting outputs
Incorporate AI productivity tools into daily workflows
Maintain current and accurate process documentation
Follow and enforce established accounting policies and internal controls
Maintain the chart of accounts and ensure an orderly, audit-ready accounting filing system
Manage OnBase AP approval workflow
Support and coordinate external audit, insurance audit, and regulatory exam processes
Support outside CPA firm and internal tax resources with multistate income, B&O, and sales tax preparation
Support leadership with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
8-10 years of progressive accounting experience
3+ years in a supervisory or management role
Prior experience in the construction and/or manufacturing industry strongly preferred
Proficiency in ERP systems with hands-on experience in GL, AP, and AR modules
Solid working knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and accounting best practices
Strong team manager
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Clear and professional communicator
Proactive problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset
Nice to have:
CPA or CMA a plus
Familiarity with job costing, WIP schedules, and project-based accounting a plus
Experience working with or coordinating offshore or remote accounting team members preferred
Familiarity with Power BI, AI productivity tools, and Avalara or similar sales tax automation platforms a plus
Familiarity with OnBase or similar document workflow and AP approval systems preferred
