Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in Bloomington, Minnesota. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in managing revenue accounting processes, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and contributing to accurate financial reporting. This position involves working closely with finance leadership and collaborating across departments to enhance operational efficiency and maintain financial integrity.

Job Responsibility:

Coordinate and execute month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
Analyze revenue contracts to ensure adherence to ASC 606 revenue recognition standards
Prepare and review inventory-related accounting entries and associated standards
Implement and maintain compliance with internal control requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the production of accurate financial reports
Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in all accounting processes
Identify and propose enhancements to accounting systems, processes, and controls
Conduct thorough balance sheet reconciliations and prepare supporting documentation
Assist in external financial audits, tax filings, and lender audits
Contribute to special projects and provide support for ad hoc accounting initiatives

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience with strong attention to detail
Proficiency in ASC 606 revenue recognition guidelines
Experience working within a controlled environment adhering to internal controls
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting

Nice to have:

Familiarity with cloud-based accounting systems is preferred
CPA certification or CPA candidate status is advantageous
Background in public accounting or technical accounting within the industry is highly desirable
