We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Galveston, Texas. In this long-term contract role, you will play a vital part in ensuring accurate financial reporting and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. This position requires someone with strong attention to detail, extensive experience in accounting processes, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Job Responsibility:
Manage month-end closing procedures, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
Maintain and update the general ledger to reflect all financial transactions
Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and compliance
Perform account reconciliations to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies
Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure alignment between financial records and bank statements
Oversee payroll processing using ADP, ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies
Review and enforce bank policies and procedures to maintain compliance
Support bank operations by monitoring financial activities and addressing issues
Collaborate with internal teams to optimize accounting workflows and improve efficiency
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting roles with a focus on detail-oriented tasks
Proficiency in month-end closing procedures and general ledger management
Strong knowledge of journal entries and account reconciliation processes
Experience with bank reconciliations and financial accuracy checks
Familiarity with ADP payroll systems and related operations
Understanding of bank policies and operational practices
Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
Ability to work independently while meeting strict deadlines
