Senior Accountant

• Process and manage bi‑weekly payroll, including employee setup, changes, and terminations in ADP, in coordination with HR
• Handle payroll-related filings and payments, including taxes, retirement contributions, workers’ compensation, garnishments, and benefits
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee pay issues with HR, ADP, and applicable agencies
• Maintain, audit, and distribute payroll records and support annual payroll, benefits, and workers’ compensation audits
• Reconcile balance sheet, payroll, tax, benefits, and corporate expense GL accounts
• investigate and correct variances
• Prepare and post reconciliation, adjusting, and year‑end journal entries
• escalate unresolved issues as needed
• Support corporate tax filings, bank reconciliations, month‑end close, and financial analysis
• Apply GAAP consistently, support audits, improve processes, adapt to new systems, and work collaboratively across teams

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a closely related discipline required
• 5–6 years of hands-on experience in accrual-based accounting, preferably within real estate organizations
• Background in nonprofit, corporate, or commercial real estate accounting is a plus
• Proven experience producing financial statements and performing monthly trend and variance reviews
• Familiarity with payroll processing and related audit support
• Solid command of GAAP and fixed asset accounting practices
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively
• Capable of managing multiple priorities with strong planning and organization skills
• Comfortable using accounting systems and technology
• advanced skills in Excel and experience with NetSuite preferred
