Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Chicago, Illinois. In this role, you will play a key part in managing financial processes, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting the organization's overall financial health. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic legal industry environment while utilizing your expertise in accounting systems and practices.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and review account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies
Conduct detailed balance sheet reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner
Perform bank reconciliations, ensuring alignment between bank statements and internal records
Oversee the general ledger by maintaining accurate entries and supporting documentation
Create and post journal entries to facilitate month-end and year-end close processes
Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel skills to analyze financial data and generate reports
Manage month-end close activities, ensuring deadlines are met and financial statements are accurate
Work with accounting systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP to streamline financial operations and reporting
Collaborate with internal teams to improve accounting processes and ensure compliance with regulations
Provide support for audits by preparing necessary documentation and addressing auditor inquiries

Requirements:

Proven experience in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations
Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entry preparation
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions for data analysis
Hands-on experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP
Demonstrated ability to manage month-end close processes and meet strict deadlines
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in financial reporting
Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulatory compliance
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams
