Senior Accountant - Engineering Firm | Contract‑to‑Hire | $75-$90K | East Orange, NJ. An established employee‑owned engineering company in East Orange, NJ is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing team. Job Responsibility:

Manage general ledger activities and ensure accurate financial reporting
Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes
Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
Support project accounting, cost tracking, and budget analysis
Assist with audits and compliance requirements
Partner with engineering and project teams to provide financial insights
Identify process improvements and strengthen internal controls

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3-5+ years of accounting experience (engineering or construction industry a plus)
Strong understanding of GAAP
Proficiency in Excel and accounting software
Detail‑oriented, analytical, and able to work independently
Excellent communication and organizational skills
