We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join a growing real estate investment organization in Stamford, Connecticut. In this role, you will support core accounting operations for a portfolio of properties while helping deliver timely, accurate financial reporting to leadership. Job Responsibility
Manage month-end activities, including posting journal entries, updating the general ledger, and completing closing tasks on schedule
Prepare financial reports for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting periods and review results for accuracy and consistency
Perform account and bank reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner
Partner with internal stakeholders to support budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of performance against expectations
Evaluate property-level operating results, cash activity, and financial trends to support business decisions
Assist with annual audits by organizing supporting documentation and coordinating responses for external auditors
Help maintain compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company financial policies
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
At least 2 years of accounting experience, with solid exposure to month-end close processes
Hands-on experience with general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Strong Excel skills and comfort working within accounting software platforms
High level of accuracy, organization, and analytical problem-solving ability
Nice to have
Background in real estate, property accounting, or investment management is preferred
