Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Madison Heights, Michigan. In this long-term contract role, you will play a pivotal part in managing financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting various departments to maintain seamless business processes. This position requires someone with strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to handle complex accounting tasks efficiently.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee month-end close processes across multiple locations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions, including cash applications and reconciliation
Record general ledger entries and prepare journal entries to maintain financial accuracy
Support inventory management by monitoring accrued liabilities and maintaining accurate records
Collaborate with sales and customer service teams by assisting with invoice entry and related tasks
Contribute to the preparation of rolling forecasts and assist with 2+10 financial projections
Utilize advanced Excel skills and analytical tools to support financial decision-making
Assist with creating and maintaining detailed reports to ensure compliance and operational efficiency
Work with Dynamics 365 and Dynamics AX systems to streamline financial processes
Provide support during audits and ensure adherence to accounting standards

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting roles, preferably as a Senior Accountant
Proficiency in month-end close processes, general ledger maintenance, and journal entries
Strong understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
Experience with accruals, accrued liabilities, and inventory accounting
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting
Familiarity with financial forecasting and budgeting methodologies
Hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 or Dynamics AX systems
Excellent organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail
Manufacturing industry experience
