Job Description:

This role is essential for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our accounting operations for a family investment portfolio while maintaining the integrity of financial data. As part of a dynamic environment, you will play a critical role in managing investment activity, cash reconciliations, payroll, and tax reporting. This is a newly created role due to growth in their small office setting.

Job Responsibility:

Record and reconcile daily accounting and investment transactions and associated financial activity
Maintain and update general ledger records while performing daily bank and account reconciliations
Process payroll transactions and all associated taxes in a timely and accurate manner
Assist with the preparation and filing of a wide variety of individual, partnership and business tax forms, including Forms 1099
Contribute to the implementation of new accounting adn ERP systems and constinued support to ensure process improvements
Provide and complete cross-training and support between accounting, operational and third party reporting agencies to enhance internal controls and operational efficiency
Exercise discretion and uphold confidentiality when handling sensitive financial and personal information

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
Minimum of 3+ years of accounting experience
Proficiency in Excel and strong communication skills are essential
Knowledge of payroll and income tax accounting is necessary

Nice to have:

CPA a plus
Familiarity with accounting system implementations is a plus
Experience in a Family Office environment and/or the oil and gas industry is strongly preferred
Expertise in month-end close processes, general ledger management, and account reconciliations
