Senior Accountant Job at Airwallex (Singapore)

Job Description

This role will be a key member of the Airwallex APAC Financial Controllership team. You will play an important role in ensuring the accuracy of the monthly financial reporting across our APAC entities. You take ownership of APAC group entities reporting and own the accounting for complicated accounting aspects, including supporting audit. You will closely collaborate with our FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Financial Ops teams and legal regulatory reporting team, supporting our efforts to continuously improve our financial reporting processes, accuracy and timeline. Your role will be a combination of recurring finance tasks and project based initiatives to improve the overall quality of controllership team within Airwallex.

Job Responsibility

Own the financial month end close procedures for our recurring reporting processes including the review of regional financial data submission to FP&A and Tax
Perform monthly closing activities in Oracle for APAC group of entities within the reporting deadline set
Support project to expand our US GAAP reporting framework and develop internal accounting guidance to ensure accuracy and consistency in our reporting
Support and take part in wide range of improvement projects for the Controllership team within Airwallex
Close collaboration with our regional finance controllership teams to continuously increase the financial control on our financials including following up on all intercompany financial positions
Closely collaborate with product or business teams that require finance support on new product developments
Close collaboration with other finance teams on department wide projects and change management

Requirements

5+ years of finance experience
Big Four experience is advantageous
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
CPA or equivalent qualification preferred
Basic understanding of financial services, fintech businesses and regulatory environments
Strong knowledge on IFRS and at least a basic knowledge on US GAAP standards and being able to apply them in practice
Strong communicator and ability to interact with all levels within the organization
Confident, and forward-thinking skills to deliver impact in a hyper growth environment
Experience working independently and able to navigate ambiguity
