We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Huntersville, North Carolina. This is a long-term contract position that offers the opportunity to work with large data sets and contribute to critical financial processes. The ideal candidate will have advanced Excel skills and a proven track record of performing reconciliations, audit preparation, and month-end close activities.
Job Responsibility:
Perform detailed account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, capital expenditures, inventory, and intercompany accounts, using Excel
Analyze and consolidate large data sets, utilizing advanced Excel functions such as pivot tables and complex formulas to streamline reconciliation processes
Investigate and resolve outstanding purchase orders, collaborating with operations and accounts payable teams to identify root causes and implement process improvements
Support month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and maintaining the general ledger
Prepare and organize audit documentation to ensure compliance and accuracy
Identify opportunities for process enhancements to mitigate recurring financial discrepancies and inefficiencies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address financial reporting issues and ensure accurate data integration
Take ownership of assigned projects, rolling up your sleeves to dive into the details and deliver high-quality results
Requirements:
Proven experience in account reconciliations, including handling large data sets and complex financial transactions
Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data analysis tools
Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and month-end close processes
Prior experience with bank reconciliations and resolving outstanding purchase orders
Ability to analyze root causes of discrepancies and recommend effective process improvements
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach
Strong communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
