Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join their team in Memphis, Tennessee. This role is critical to ensuring accurate financial operations and compliance across multiple entities in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. The ideal candidate will excel in managing complex accounting tasks, payroll, tax filings, and audit preparation while contributing to process improvements and intercompany financial analysis.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and record journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and amortization schedules, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Reconcile monthly bank accounts and general ledger balances to maintain precise financial records
Review and process payroll data, including timecard approvals and payroll batches, while ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements
Perform sales commission calculations, validate reports, and ensure timely payouts
File state and Canadian sales tax returns, ensuring compliance with regional tax regulations
Coordinate with external vendors to manage sales tax corrections and maintain exemption certificates
Assist in preparing schedules and documentation for audits, tax filings, and external reporting requirements
Collaborate with international subsidiaries to meet statutory reporting obligations and support multinational operations
Identify opportunities for process and system improvements, implementing solutions to enhance efficiency
Provide backup support for insurance administration and compliance filings as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with exposure to multinational operations preferred
Proficiency in accounting systems, with experience in NetSuite or similar platforms
Advanced knowledge of payroll systems, such as ADP, and payroll tax compliance
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and formula functions
Demonstrated ability to prepare reconciliations, journal entries, and tax filings with accuracy
Experience supporting audits and collaborating with external advisors
Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
