Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Leawood, Kansas. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing financial processes, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards. Job Responsibility:

Oversee and manage month-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure financial data integrity
prepare and post journal entries while adhering to accounting principles and company policies
conduct account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
perform bank reconciliations to ensure alignment with financial records
collaborate with internal teams to support audits and compliance requirements
analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for process improvements
ensure adherence to regulatory standards and company policies in all accounting activities
assist in preparing reports and documentation for management review

Requirements:

Proven experience in month-end close processes and general ledger management
strong knowledge of journal entries and account reconciliation practices
expertise in performing bank reconciliations with high accuracy
proficiency in financial analysis and reporting
familiarity with accounting software and tools
excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members
bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
