Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in New York, New York. In this Contract to permanent opportunity, you will oversee critical accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and adherence to company policies. This position offers a dynamic environment where you'll play a key role in maintaining financial integrity and supporting business decision-making.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accurate maintenance of balance sheet reconciliations and ledgers, including areas like payroll, rebate accruals, and inventory reserves
Compile and analyze financial data to prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Ensure all financial records comply with internal policies and established accounting procedures
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of accounting control systems, identifying opportunities for improvement
Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to meet strict reporting deadlines
Assist in budgeting and forecasting efforts, providing valuable insights for resource allocation
Coordinate with external auditors during financial statement audits, ensuring smooth and accurate processes
Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations, addressing any discrepancies
Prepare and review reports for corporate tax filings, including income tax and transfer pricing calculations
Analyze financial trends and provide strategic recommendations to support business objectives

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
advanced certifications are a plus
At least 5 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably within a multinational organization
Strong understanding of financial reporting, general ledger management, and account reconciliation
Proficiency in Office applications
familiarity with Dynamics or Vena financial tools is a bonus
Demonstrated ability to analyze complex financial data and resolve discrepancies efficiently
Knowledge of local statutory and regulatory requirements governing accounting practices
Experience with process improvement initiatives and implementing internal controls
Excellent problem-solving skills and a high level of attention to detail

Nice to have:

familiarity with Dynamics or Vena financial tools is a bonus
