We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. This is a contract-to-permanent opportunity where you will play a key role in managing federal contract billing and accounting operations. The position requires someone with strong attention to detail, expertise in compliance-driven invoicing processes, and a solid understanding of government contracts.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee the preparation, review, and processing of invoices for federal contracts, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Allocate charges to appropriate contract line items or task orders based on established guidelines
Distinguish reimbursable and non-reimbursable expenses, adhering to contract specifications
Collaborate closely with the Assistant Controller and Controller to support billing cycles and month-end activities
Manage account reconciliations and journal entries to maintain accurate financial records
Conduct month-end close procedures and ensure timely reporting
Handle bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
Support a paperless accounting environment by leveraging systems-driven processes
Provide expertise in navigating compliance requirements for federal contract billing

Requirements:

Proven experience in federal contract billing and accounting processes
Strong knowledge of month-end close procedures and general ledger maintenance
Proficiency in preparing journal entries and performing account reconciliations
Familiarity with compliance regulations and invoicing standards for government contracts
High attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation
Ability to work effectively in a systems-driven, paperless environment
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to liaise with internal teams
Availability to work occasional extended hours during busy periods
