Job Description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team in Newport Beach, California. This role involves managing financial operations for a portfolio of self-storage units and mobile home parks, ensuring accuracy in reporting and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in property management accounting, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to producing high-quality financial results.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements for assigned properties, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Perform complex bank reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies between account systems and bank statements
Record and review journal entries to maintain an accurate general ledger
Manage and oversee the financial operations of approximately 20 multi-state properties
Collaborate with property managers and other stakeholders to ensure timely financial reporting
Handle credit card reconciliations and resolve mismatches efficiently
Support month-end close processes, including reconciliations and reporting
Utilize Sage Intacct software for financial management and reporting
Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial processes and controls
Take ownership of assigned portfolio properties, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures

Requirements:

Proven experience in property management accounting, preferably with multi-state portfolios
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as VLOOKUP
Strong understanding of general ledger, journal entries, and bank reconciliations
Familiarity with Sage Intacct or similar accounting software
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Stable work history, demonstrating reliability and commitment
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
