Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to oversee and execute essential accounting functions across multiple entities. This position is integral to ensuring accurate financial reporting, tax compliance, and seamless payroll integration. Join our team in Sandy, Utah to contribute to efficient and effective accounting operations.

Job Responsibility:

Conduct daily and monthly cash reconciliations across various entities to ensure accuracy
Prepare comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations as part of the month-end close process
Address inquiries from business managers regarding financial reporting and provide insightful solutions
Collaborate with the Payroll Manager to record and upload payroll data, including calculations and reconciliations
Oversee and ensure timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities
Calculate and report taxes related to coal sales and production, ensuring compliance across multiple locations
Manage audits related to coal taxes and provide necessary documentation to auditors
Support both internal and external financial audits with accurate and timely reporting

Requirements:

Proven expertise in month-end close processes and financial reporting
Strong proficiency in general ledger management and journal entries
Demonstrated experience with account and bank reconciliations
Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems
In-depth understanding of tax calculations and compliance regulations
Ability to work collaboratively with payroll and business managers
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
