Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Dallas, Texas. This role is ideal for someone with a keen attention to detail and a strong background in accounting who thrives in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in financial reporting, reconciliation, and process improvements while mentoring less experienced staff.

Job Responsibility:

Conduct trial balance analyses for assigned entities to ensure accurate financial reporting
Manage tasks associated with the monthly close process, ensuring timely completion
Maintain and oversee lease accounting in compliance with ASC 842 standards for both operating and finance leases
Reconcile intercompany balances and resolve discrepancies efficiently
Supervise the maintenance of fixed asset registers and related depreciation schedules
Perform and oversee bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial transactions
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and analyze income statement accounts as assigned
Provide training and guidance to Staff Accountants on financial analysis and control account reconciliations
Take on special projects and additional duties as required, contributing to organizational goals
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes and systems

Requirements:

Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and advanced spreadsheets
knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Availability to work extended hours when necessary to fulfill business needs
Proven ability to mentor and train entry level accounting staff effectively
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills for interaction at all organizational levels
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution
4–6 years of detail oriented accounting experience in a corporate setting
Preferred experience in industries such as construction, engineering, design-build, or entrepreneurial/start-up environments
