This is a long-term contract position designed for an experienced, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels in financial analysis and reconciliation tasks. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in general ledger management and advanced accounting software knowledge.
Job Responsibility:
Perform detailed account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial standards
Manage month-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and reviewing financial statements
Conduct thorough research and resolve discrepancies within general ledger accounts
Utilize accounting software such as Prologue Fiserv and Excel to perform data analysis and streamline financial operations
Handle bank reconciliations and ensure proper alignment with company records
Collaborate with team members to address backlogged financial tasks and improve workflow efficiency
Maintain accurate documentation of financial transactions and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements
Support ongoing system upgrades or conversions related to member records and accounting processes
Provide insights and recommendations to improve accounting practices and internal controls
Requirements:
Proven experience in accounting, with a focus on general ledger and account reconciliations
Proficiency in accounting software, such as Prologue Fiserv, and advanced Excel capabilities (pivot tables, vlookups)
Strong analytical and research skills to identify and resolve financial discrepancies
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
Solid understanding of month-end close processes, journal entries, and bank reconciliations
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work with cross-functional teams
Nice to have:
Previous experience in the banking or credit union industry is preferred
