We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this role, you will oversee a variety of financial tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational policies and accounting standards. You will also play an integral part in mentoring entry-level team members and enhancing the efficiency of accounting processes.
Job Responsibility:
Lead and mentor entry-level team members, providing guidance and reviewing their work for accuracy and compliance
Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring financial transactions are recorded in alignment with established accounting policies
Monitor account activity and maintain supporting documentation to ensure proper financial recordkeeping
Complete, review, and approve reconciliations for general ledger accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed
Design, implement, and document workflows and controls for accounting and reporting processes, including subsidiary systems
Recommend and refine controls to adapt to changes in products, processes, regulations, or corporate policies
Develop and update accounting processes and procedures to align with regulatory and organizational standards
Analyze financial performance by preparing and interpreting complex reports, including variance analyses and budget forecasts
Ensure accurate and timely submission of management, regulatory, and financial reports
Respond to audit inquiries and collaborate with relevant teams to provide necessary analysis and documentation
Requirements:
Extensive experience with month-end close processes and general ledger management
Proficiency in preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts, including bank reconciliations
Strong familiarity with Workday ERP systems and related accounting tools
Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data and variance reports
Proven track record of maintaining compliance with accounting standards and corporate policies
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Strong communication skills to effectively mentor team members and collaborate across departments
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
CPA certification is preferred
